How to attach legs to my Uni's (ahem....FREE UNI!) extension table
#11
Yes, Still gloating over the free UNI I acquired 2 months ago

(Insert the obligatory "YOU SUCK" here, please...)

Anywho, I built an extension table for it out of some counter tops I had laying around (I dunno where they came from and why I held on to them for so long but I did put them to good use).

The 1st pic shows the extension in the dropped location. I set the hinge point back from the edge a few inches so I could still use the original extension to the right as an assembly table; I'm still able to use the edge to clamp something to it. Thought that was pretty clever of me, eh?

The 2nd pic shows the top up . Yes, it is a mishmash of countertop pieces, but it was all free and it works for me.

The 3rd pic shows one of the legs I have supporting the extension (you might be able to make out the 2nd leg in sitting on top of the saw in the 2nd picture.

I can't hinge these legs so that they fold towards the saw as the extension isn't wide enough and they'd hit the saw.

I was thinking about hinging them so that they fold in the direction of the drill press, but I would need to add a block so the outside one could bypass the inside one.

Also I would want to lock them in position when they're in use and when they're folded down.

I'm open to all suggestions

(I also thought about having them drop down at a 45 degree angle and have a bird's mouth cut out to register them on the mobile base... anyone ever done that?)

Hmmmm... here we go again
I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.

But there is a concept
