Speaking of gaming, I seek an alternative to the greedy marketing game Google Search has initiated since ToR (Time of R'trds) manipulation of internet regulations. When all I can find are current adverts for any general topic search, it's time to find a better engine to pay for the ludicrous costs I pay for [now] throttled down cable service.
And, get this: This morning I got spam email from Chuck Bender because I opened an odd webpage last night while seeking wood information. If it isn't that 46,ooo projects thief, now it's someone I thought I could trust. Spam is the main reason I look for better virus protection. You guys better review your ethics. Do I start worrying about Schwarz and, Bob, too?
Any bets on this post surviving the censor police?

Online personalities...where I hang out, they're called socialites. They love to show photos of their newest tools, attend woodworking shows (Instagram, FB or blog minute by minute updates (exagg., of course)), glorify everything woodworking. and get exposure as if this world were all about them. I'm probably too old; I still love the down-to-earth teachings of Frid, Peters, etc.
By the way, Chuck Bender's traditional skills are solid and second to nobody's. He may be old school and is not using social media much, but his work, which I've seen up close, is top-notch.

Turn off your Cookies tracking, and you'll get far less spam.

How can I do that on a Mac?
...Naval Aviators, that had balz made of brass and the size of bowling balls, getting shot off the deck at night, in heavy seas, hoping that when they leave the deck that the ship is pointed towards the sky and not the water.

His web site / blog site got hacked a while back and was spewing forth tons to crap into the ether.
Might be a hold over from that little adventure. Other than the canned kind, Spam doesn't seem to be his thing.

Varies by browser and iOS version but here's somewhere to start:

Alternatively, go down to the basement and post the question.

I made the switch-off in my Google account and couldn't get back into WoodNet. Google is 99% commercialism so I made a commitment to find a better search engine.
Any general information researchers out there?

Derek reminded me.... I picked up nearly 30 woodworking magazines, all but one were BH&G's Wood. For a quarter each. I refuse to do subscriptions, since ... the last must (most memorable) have been Penthouse when I was in school. My bride-to-be's X-mas gift. I am too picky about what I keep for reference--even back then--and not even a tenth of the Wood magazines were saved. For technical information, and having nothing to do with a plywood-n-machine-rich shop.
I am positive everything in those magazines was a decade late in style. Were people still edge-trimming Formica covered banding in 2007? Even my 1985 house used that same treatment. Marble and granite tops should have been the rage in that decade.

That was so you could get back to her and say, "You know, I saw all those women in that magazine you got me, and boy howdy, they just don't none of them come close to looking as good as you."

No. I realized I was a sucker for redheads. She was a redhead.
