Stool height for a workbench

The idea of a “leaning stool” is intriguing. if anybody finds anything that looks buildable (wood) in that regard, please post it...my google-fu isn’t real successful tonight.

Been cogitating a little more on this...

I’m going to try Chris Schwarz’ staked high stool with some modification...

I’m going to reverse the rake between the front and rear legs, keeping the splay the same. This will result in a slight nose-down seat with the support further forward to make it more stable when leaning toward the bench. This should put the highest part of the seat about 6” below my bench top, which has my elbow a little above the bench top at a good height for sawing. I’ll figure out a comfortable height for the front stretcher with use, and add it later.

I’ll make the seat a little shorter front to back, mostly because a 2x10 is what I have laying around, but I figure that will be fine for use at the bench.
