Nice hauls, but you don't get any points for the grandkid unless you post a picture of him/her.

You're no doubt aware that, if you find a suitable length of 5/16" rod of the right quality (like drill rod, for instance), you can grind a point on it and have a pair of 6" dividers, too.

I've never heard that type of block plane being called a "bottlecap" plane, but the name's sure right.  And, yes, smart move over buying a No. 75 paperweight rabbet plane of pretty much any brand.

The Millers Falls No. 75 was a block plane that looked just like the Stanley No. 110......instead of a "bottle cap"....it had a lobed wheel.    Besides, I already had one in  the shop.

That letter stamp....
Confused

Is for the letter "S"....not too sure about those two HUGE bits....others in the picture are 1/4" hex.

Sale had quite a few metal toolboxes, some power tools, LOTS of hand tools.

Still, not too bad, for the first of the season.....

Alrighty....Stanley No. has been cleaned up, and the iron is sharp...
Cool

Took a bit of "hammer adjust"....from Moxxon TP down to see through shavings....
Winkgrin

There is a Millers Falls clone in the shop...
Rolleyes

Stamped in the left side...Millers Falls No. 75

Was putting the Stanley through it's paces, today..
Winkgrin

Seems some of the parts needed flattened...

Resaws weren't quite flat....

Might be a decent enough block plane....for under $3?
Confused

People think you have to have a fancy block plane with adjustable mouth and fine adjusters and all that...not always.
