Is cutting a mirror the same as glass

Most tempered glass has an etching indicating such in a corner, at least it does when used in fenestration. Not sure whether that would apply to a mirror...

I was told that cutting really old glass is very difficult. This was after I failed at cutting an old mirror. Not tempered just old
