I'm sure the trees are grateful. Sweet gift; and I guess the old fudge tale about never giving someone a knife outright (it should always be a "sale," in which the recipient gives a penny back, so that the knife doesn't cut their bonds of friendship, or love in this case) has died out.
This is actually the second knife that’s been gifted in the relationship...she was trying to figure out what to get him for his birthday, and we went down the rabbit hole of pocket knives, throwing knives sharpening equipment (all stuff that he had), and ended up with a kit for a liner lock knife. She picked out some nice wood that I cut into pieces for the scales, so he could either book match or have the grain flow through the handle.
