In my opinion the two best mid priced miter gauges under $250 one can buy right now are either the Hongdui or the newly released Goingmake. I purchased a Hongdui miter gauge to replace my trusty old JDS Accu Miter last year and could not be happier. The Hongdui has a much improved sliding stop and the Goingmake has a slightly better single scale that reads metric and SAE along with a micro adjuster that reads in mm and thousandths of an inch. The Hongdui has metric and SAE scales but you have to turn them over to read the printing and calibrate them but their micro adjuster will only read mm. I don’t find that a problem. The build quality of these two are exceptional.

Woodenfish, thanks for pointing out the Goingmake gauge I never heard of that one but looks really nice for the money.

I had not heard of either the Goingmake or the Hongdui. I looked up the Goingmake unit and it does look like a very good buy. I'm not in the market for one, but that one seems worth considering.

I'm not in the market either - just trying to decide between two that I already have.  Having both the Incra and Jessum in front of me I would choose the Jessum.  My only hesitation was the limited miter range (+- 45 vs 90) - its likely limited to a few times that greater than 45 is needed.  I have a RAS that theoretically goes to 90 degrees left and right that would likely cover the times I might need greater than 45.  I'm choosing the Jessum

Like some others here I can't comment on the Jessum gauge but have had an Incra 1000SE for many years now and have to say it seems to have met all my miter gauge needs. I consider it a quality item and while I don't use it often, when I do it does the job. Someone mentioned a problem using the hex screwdriver, indicating it was inconvenient. I too have one of those ball hex screwdrivers, keep it handy near the gauge when I'm using it and like the fact that with it you can tighten down the settings you've chosen and be certain they will hold.

I also have several other Incra products and consider them a good company from a CS perspective. In the end, obviously you'll have to decide which product best meets your needs. From all accounts Jessum products are also well received. I have one of their router lifts and it is a very nice product.

So I watched one review on YouTube that compared the incra and jessum and harvey.  They Incra came in last.  I have an incra 1000SE and now have a new Jessum.  I unpacked the Jessum this morning and I have to say it seems to be much better built than the incra and has a excellent fit and finish.  The one apparent downside is the incra has a miter range of 0 to 90 degrees and the jessum only has 0 to 45 degrees.  The reviewer felt that greater than 45 degrees was not a significant factor - but I'm curious how often folks would use a grater than 45 setting - I can't remember ever going over 45 but its one of those "better to have and not need than to need and not have"

The reviewer also felt that the adjustments on the incra were a bit clunky - require a tool for most changes.  That has frustrated me in the past when using my incra.  I'm going to watch the woodwisperer review later today but right now I'm leaning towards keeping the jessum.  However at $379 dollars I doubt I would buy one.

Thoughts on the miter range?

If you keep the Incra I would opt to change it to the tooless option. As I have a Incra and using the round headed tool is kinda a pain in my opion.

Last year I bought this called a miterset which will do absolute 0 to 90* and have never had a wrong miter

Well worth at least one for table saw cuts but they have one for segmented turning to and some are same angles.  If I want square cuts it is perfect. I would love to get the segmented set but at $90 for one I could only afford one of them and one of the guys wanted to make picture frames
