Tool funds took a hit Thursday.
Rockwell Model 31-501. VintageMachinery.orgs'
lists give a born on date of 1965.
It is in rough shape but runs. Kid that had it never
cleaned the metal swarf off. "Blade making" was his
use. He said he got it from a closing machine shop
in a nearby town. So perhaps I am the third owner.
Missing the left side and top guard. Broken/missing
knobs etc.
But should clean up nice and be yards better than the
mid seventies craftsman already in inventory. Probably
move that one on, when this one gets fixed up.
Obligatory pic ( from the craigs list ad ):
a hundred and fifty bones. ( Old arn getting harder to find...)
