Never Had This Happen Before: Bearing Failure
#3
Routing a rabbet on the inside edge of a picture frame: taking an 1/8" bite at a depth of 1/4" in cherry: not asking too much of the router or bit. I then start noticing a strange color appearing on the beautiful cherry? What could this be? How about the rabbet bit bearing lost one of its shields and starting spraying the work with bearing grease. I was able to recover, but come on, that is not supposed to happen. CMT bit made in Italy, bearing made in china.

It happens....router bit guide bearings don't live an easy life.

At least it didn't ruin your work.
