Escondido WW help?
#11
Anyone in the Escondido, CA area want to make some reasonable money to help finish a project?
It basically amounts to making 16 half lap joints in 2 X 4’s: 2 stiles about 45” long and 4 rails about 7’ long.
Must be square and tight.
Thanks,
Gary

I am not in a position to be of any help, but I can suggest you try the San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association Craftsman List.

See if you can find a skills and reasonable location match on that list.

I thought you were in Florida.  You don't own a circular saw and a chisel?  I've also done what you want with a handsaw, though that would take longer.

My SIL didn’t have tools; we went shopping.
I’ve done 23 half lap joints—9 to go.
Most were done with circular saw, chisel and rasps.
We borrowed a router and I’m banging but it’s still hot—yesterday was 108; it’s only 102 right now!

Still looking for someone who can complete 4 easy sets of half lap joints in Escondido.
Anyone know someone who wants to make a couple hundred dollars for a few hours work?

If SIL doesn't have the tools, maybe send some his way so he can do the work...
