  Lipped drawers with Dovetails?
Posted by: Timesale - 02-09-2015, 05:38 PM - Forum: Woodworking - Replies (2)

3/8" - 1/2" rabbets leave plenty of meat for the drawer face to cover

Besides your drawers should be stopped at the back of the drawer not the face unless you are using metal drawer slides.

Wow, that half back is spectacular! I must admit I don't care for the toe on the dovetail spine, but the handle is as nice as they come. Thanks for showing us!

  Shop Cabinet do's and don't's
Posted by: Rick_B - 02-04-2015, 02:29 PM - Forum: Woodworking - Replies (5)

While the construction likely doesn't necessitate 1/2" ply I would use because of the mobile usage this cabinet will see. Presuming the casters are to make it mobile.

The first time I wheeled it around the shop I'd back it into something sharp enough to gouge the 1/4" ply, perhaps even hard enough to puncture it.

  Harbor Freight flash light cannon
Posted by: Woodshop - 02-03-2015, 10:25 AM - Forum: Woodturning - Replies (24)

I finally finished the carriage for this one. I think I have made 7 of these in the past, they are very poplar at Xmas time. (rob your neighbor game gift).
I use a Free harbor freight flash light. overall about 9-1/2" long and stands about 4-1/2 tall.
This one is walnut and maple, finished with Lacquer and will set on my desk
Winkgrin at least until I forget to make a gift for someone, and give it to them

Neat project.

I see you're using the same Monkey Wards saw I own. Which is why I have to say I would not have had the courage to do those cuts on it.
